Soldiers and Family Members Can Attend Authors at Your Library Presenter Steve Berry's Writers' Workshop for Free!

Steve Berry, who will present our September 26 Authors at Your Library program, invites you to participate in his acclaimed writer's workshop to be held Saturday, September 29, in Lexington, Kentucky.

Do you have a story you would love to turn into a book? Is there a manuscript hiding in your desk drawer you want to finish? The Lexington History Museum is offering scholarships to military personnel and/or family members who would like to take Steve Berry’s acclaimed writer’s workshop: Lesson from a Bestseller.  The workshop takes place Saturday, September 29 at the Main Street Library, 140 East Main St., Lexington.
The workshop lays the groundwork for writers of all levels—from beginners to professionals—and includes story structure, point of view, dialog and Steve’s 11 Rules of Writing. In addition, the last section will feature Elizabeth Berry, executive director of International Thriller Writers and a literary marketing executive on the Business of Writing—what you know to market your work. The workshop concludes with a Q&A with Steve and Elizabeth.
A sincere interest in writing is the only criteria to receive a full scholarship to the workshop. For more information and to apply for a scholarship, please contact Jamie Millard, executive director of the Lexington History Museum, at 859.254.0530, or by email at Jamie@lexingtonhistorymuseum.org.
Steve Berry is the internationally known, New York Times bestselling author of 11 thrillers.   He has 14 million books in print, which have been translated into 40 languages and sold in 51 countries.  He has three standalone thrillers, including 2012’s The Columbus Affair, which introduced disgraced Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Tom Sagan, who finds himself caught up in an international game of intrigue that will change everything we think we know about the discovery of America. Berry’s Cotton Malone series, which began with The Templar Legacy, follows former Justice Department operative turned bookseller Cotton Malone on a series of globetrotting adventures that have involved everything from the Terra Cotta warriors of ancient China to the secrets of the Knights Templar.
